Being a parent is tough
Although I'm happy for my friend who just had a baby, and want everything to go well, I have other mixed thoughts. Becoming a parent may be difficult, but being one is even more difficult, and being a good parent, yes, that's the hardest thing of all. It's a lifelong commitment and nothing is ever the same again after you've had children. You're never really free again. Free in the sense that you have no one to worry about. Having children is a constant worry for each day and for tomorrow. Is my child healthy? Is she developing as she should? How's her school work? Does she enjoy school? What's her future? How much should I leave to her to decide for herself?
